hitchBOT was an experiment in human interaction, and it successfully hitched the length of Canada and then Germany. The hitchBOT creators tried to send it across the US, but hitchBOT never made it off the eastern Seaboard. After a night on the town in Philly, it was found decapitated in an alley.
Some are suggesting that the damage speaks to inherent cruelty of humanity or the state of misanthropy in the US, but considering Philly’s history of treating beloved icons poorly, maybe the finger pointing is misplaced.
Then again, as Better Call Saul has taught us, nothing good ever happens in an alley at 4am.
